ANARA-REDLARA Cooperation features in the opening lecture of the 25th Brazilian Congress on Assisted Reproduction and 15th Red Latinoamericana de Reproducción Assistida, held in Medellin, Colombia.
In the opening lecture of an outstanding, well-attended conference, Professor Fernando Zegers-Hochschild outlined the history, importance and many accomplishments of regional cooperation in Latin America, and how this crossed the Atlantic in 2018 to join together REDLARA and ANARA in inter-regional, South-South cooperation. Providing comparative analyses of data - facilitated by the use of identical registry software - Prof Fernando illustrated how real-life data informed the safe implementation, spread and evolution of ART in Latin America and Africa. In a joint session with WHO, ICMART, REDLARA and ANARA, Prof Silke further expanded on the role of registries in the delivery of quality ART in low and middle income countries, and how they helped to ensure that ART care provided had a strong and healthy DNA. In addition to strengthening friendship and relationship, the conference resulted in new plans to further expand this unique cooperation.
